All routine consultations are by appointment, which can be made in person, or by telephone between 8.00am – 6.30 pm (with the exception of practice training afternoons). Routine GP and Nurse Practitioner appointments can also be booked online - register by collecting a form from reception.
'Urgent for today' appointments
Same day appointments are available at the Workington Primary Care Centre (WPCC), Workington hospital 7 days a week. The WPCC is open 8 am to 8 pm Monday to Friday and from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday and Sunday. To make an appointment at the WPCC please contact Oxford Street surgery reception Monday to Friday on 01900 603302. At weekends you can make an appointment by dialling 111 of the contacting the WPCC directly on 01900 705039 (please note that this number is only available at weekends). Alternatively, you will be offered a telephone triage with the doctor on call for urgent issues. The doctor on call will triage your call and depending on the nature and urgency will either deal with over the phone or arrange the most appropriate course of action, e.g. arrange the most appropriate appointment/home visit for you. Please note: when requesting a telephone triage, the doctor on call will deal with urgent issues on the day only.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
